Insurance

If you have an out-of-network provider plan (PPO plan), I will provide you with an invoice, so you may seek reimbursement.

Please note there are a few limitations when using your insurance to cover counseling or psychotherapy fees. Often times, insurance companies have restrictions that significantly limit the type and/or length of treatment. Insurance companies may also request information about your treatment that could potentially impact your privacy and health record.

I recommend calling your insurance company to inquire about your policy and “explanation of benefits”. You may want to clarify some specifics, like:

  • What is your deductible? How much money do you have to pay until you meet your deductible?
  • Is counseling covered under your plan?
  • What are the maximum amount of sessions per year or maximum amount reimbursed per year?
  • What is the amount of reimbursement per session? For example, what would your insurance company pay on a $120 session (i.e. percentage)?

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
