Wedding Ceremony

Wedding Ceremony

In this episode, you will hear my husband, Reid Peterson, and I share a little bit about our journey and some of what has been significant to us over the last several years.

Recording this episode was a very new experience for us. A little awkward and special at the same time.

Reid shares about one component of our wedding ceremony. If any one is interested, I would be happy to share more about the whole ceremony. Together we created and designed all the elements. There were some very special and unique parts.

(correction – we moved from Los Altos, California to Boulder, Colorado in the fall of 2009).

Here are some of the main themes that we discussed:

  • Honesty
  • Trust
  • Love
  • Doing your inner work, so that you can be available to the presence of love
  • Appreciating one another and our relationship

The 5 Love Languages is a book that I mentioned in this podcast. I discuss this book more in this article.

In closing, I want to share that this was a very good exercise for us. We both felt a level of closeness after recording this episode.

Here is an idea…this weekend, share with your significant other the stories that represent what is important to you in your relationship. Do this while facing each other and looking into each others eyes. Let me know how it goes. I would love to hear.

The Get To Know You Giveaway is now live. If you would like to enter for a chance to win a $250 gift card to either a nice dinner out or a couples massage with your loved one, click here. The entry process will ask for your name and email again. I know this is a pain, but it is the best way for me to keep people who have entered the giveaway separate form my mailing list.

Thank you so much for being interested in improving your relationship. If you have a question that you would like me to answer, please leave me a voice message, by clicking on the “Ask Dr. Jessica Higgins” button here.
